Child safety standards

Our standards

• Minimum age 18. Date of birth is required at registration and anyone under 18 is refused.
• No child marriage. RishteDesk must never be used to arrange or promote the marriage of anyone under 18.
• No images of children anywhere on the platform, including members’ own children.
• No sexualised content involving minors, in any form, including text, drawings or AI-generated images.
• No grooming or any attempt to contact, meet or obtain images of a child.

Where these standards apply

Everywhere on RishteDesk: the website and the Android app, and every feature in them — profiles, photos, messages, voice and video calls, and anything a family member or wali does on a member’s behalf.

• A parent or guardian may help an adult son or daughter with their profile. Nobody may create or manage a profile for anyone under 18.
• Conversations about arranging a future marriage for a child are not allowed.

How we keep children off the platform

• An age check at registration, and review of any profile that appears to belong to someone under 18.
• Automated screening, which may include AI, to flag suspicious photos and messages. A person reviews and decides.
• Member reports, handled as the highest priority.
• Profiles are never public and are never shown to search engines.

How to report a concern

• Press Report on the profile or message, on the website or in the app. If you think the person is under 18, choose the reason “I believe this person is under 18” so it reaches us first.
• Or email safety@rishtedesk.com with the profile name or link and what you saw. Reports are confidential.
• If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 15 first.
• You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to Pakistan's National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which handles cybercrime complaints.

If you come across harmful material

Do not download, screenshot, forward or share it — not even to report it. Sharing such material is itself a crime. Report where you saw it, and we will preserve the evidence and pass it to the authorities.

What we do when we find a problem

1. Remove the content and suspend the account immediately.
2. Preserve evidence as the law requires.
3. Report it to the relevant authorities in Pakistan and, where applicable, to the appropriate international child-protection bodies.
4. Permanently ban the person from RishteDesk.

Compliance

We comply with applicable child-safety laws, including Pakistan’s Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016, and with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy.
