Community guidelines
RishteDesk is a place for families of every faith to look for marriage with dignity. These rules keep it that way.

Summary in plain words
- Be real: true details, your own recent photos, marriage intent only.
- Be respectful: to every member, every family and every faith.
- Never ask for money — and report anyone who asks you.
- The same rules apply to family members and walis acting for a member.
- Breaking these rules can lead to a warning, suspension or permanent removal. Report problems to safety@rishtedesk.com or with the Report button.
The full details are below.
1. Be real
- Use your real name and your accurate age, marital status, religion, education and work.
- Photos must be recent and of the person the profile is for. No group photos as the main photo, and no celebrity or stock photos.
- Your profile text is about you and what you are looking for. Do not put phone numbers, emails, social handles or links in it.
- If a family member manages the profile, say so, and make sure the person knows and agrees.
- Use only your own documents for verification. Using someone else’s identity document is not allowed and may be reported.
- One profile per person, and only if you are looking for marriage.
2. Be respectful
- RishteDesk welcomes families of every faith and community. Hate or mockery based on religion, sect, caste, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability, age or marital history is not allowed.
- Respect every family’s faith and choices. Pressuring anyone about their religion is not allowed.
- A “no” is a complete answer. Do not keep contacting someone who has declined or blocked you.
- Keep conversations decent. No sexual messages, images or requests.
- A wali or chaperone may join any conversation openly. Welcome them.
- Never ask someone to hide a conversation from their family.
3. Never ask for money
Do not ask for, or offer, money, gifts, loans, mobile balance, visa help, investments or dowry arrangements through the platform. Requests like these are the most common sign of a scam.
4. Keep it on RishteDesk until you are ready
Contact details are removed from messages automatically. Do not try to get around this, for example by spelling numbers out or putting them in a photo. Use in-app calls — no numbers are shared and calls are not recorded by us — until you and your family are comfortable sharing more.
5. Messages, photos and calls
- Write to people personally. Sending the same copied message to many members, or messaging only to promote something, is not allowed.
- Do not screenshot, share, repost or save another member’s photographs or details. Every photo is watermarked, and each link to a private photo is tied to the account that opened it.
- Do not record a voice or video call, or take screenshots during one, without the other person’s clear agreement.
- Anyone may end a call at any time. Calls must stay respectful and decent, like any conversation.
6. Family members and walis
- Family members who help manage a profile, and walis who join a conversation, follow exactly the same rules as members.
- Act only within the permissions the member has given you, and in their interest.
- A family member must never create or run a profile without the person’s knowledge and agreement.
7. Not allowed — at any time
- Anyone under 18, and any photo of a child. See our Child safety standards.
- Harassment, threats, blackmail, or sharing someone’s photos or details without consent.
- Impersonation or fake profiles.
- Hiding or misstating your marital status.
- Advertising, marriage-bureau or agent activity without our written permission.
- Anything illegal under Pakistani law, including offences under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
8. What happens if rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may warn, limit features, suspend or permanently remove an account. AI tools may help flag problems, but a person reviews and decides. Serious threats or crimes may be reported to the authorities.
You can appeal a decision by emailing hello@rishtedesk.com.
9. How to report
Use the Report button on any profile or message, or email safety@rishtedesk.com. Reports are confidential: the member you report is not told who reported them.
